ABOUT
Meet the Triple Threat Team
Triple Threat is the co-creation of Rob Anderson (B-boy Justice) & Paul Martin (B-boy P) from Bad Taste Cru and produced by Rachel Jean-Birch & the team at Moving Art Management.
“If there was a low-budget, VHS movie about 3 Breaking ninjas who had to win an underground Breaking tournament, what would it be called?”
“…Triple Threat” - That was how it all started.
Triple Threat is first and foremost a Breaking jam - dedicated to platforming, celebrating and developing Breaking & Hip-Hop culture in Newcastle and across the North East of England. Building on the legacy of Bad Taste Cru and Just Jam events, which laid the foundations of this project. Triple Threat centres around world-class Breaking & battling, continuing a tradition of creating opportunities for dancers, fostering community & championing the culture that inspires us. This annual event brings together the finest talent form the North East and across the globe for a full day of dance, competition, art and music. Where we celebrate creativity, community, and the spirit of Hip-Hop culture, showcasing both established artists and the next generation of talent.
Triple Threat as a project is inspired by Breaking event & the teams life-long love & experience for Hip-Hop. It is also artistically inspired by Rob and Paul’s shared love of cult cinema, low-budget VHS classics, old-school video games, bizarre retro pop culture and the iconic action films of the 1980s and 1990s. Driven by a passion for the culture, the team aims to create high-quality yet entertaining breaking experiences that engage, inspire, and connect both dancers and audiences.
